The Role:

As a Business Development Associate based in Europe, you will be responsible for prospecting and generating new business opportunities for EXCELYA in full service and FSP delivery throughout the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industries in Europe.

As a key member of Business Development team, working closely with Business Development Directors, and working cross functionally, you use your sales acumen to build strong relationships throughout your account responsibility, highlighting EXCELYA’s strength in clinical services and operations, promoting EXCELYA to prospective customers as the choice partner.

The position will be office based with flexibility for remote working 1-2 days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Prospect new biotech and pharmaceutical customers to secure meetings and generate RFI and RFPs
  • Research the market to identify and uncover business leads.
  • Support Business Development Directors with their territory account plans, by developing and building a pipeline of expected opportunities.
  • Qualify and follow-up on marketing leads from conferences, websites, digital marketing.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with decision makers at prospective customers.
  • Play a key lead role in Sales and Marketing campaigns, developing targeted sales messaging and overseeing customer engagement.
  • As your grow your experience, you will have opportunities to support Business Development Directors, through the sales process of complex Full-Service and FSP projects, from RFP to award, and lead the sales process for stand-alone projects.
  • Utilize our CRM system to track activity, metrics and share information with colleagues.
  • Represent Excelya at industry conferences and tradeshows.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in commercial and/or scientific field
  • Strong interest in sales and results oriented with ‘hunter’ mentality.
  • A thirst for knowledge and hunger for success
  • Knowledge of the Pharmaceutical and Biotech environment. Experience in selling of clinical services/CRO services to Biopharmaceutical clients preferred.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and very good command of commercial techniques.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, with additional languages desirable.
  • Willing to travel nationally and internationally.
  • An established right to work in the EU.
